Ergonomics is the science of fitting the task to the worker or making a job the most comfortable for the individual performing it in order to reduce the risk of developing a musculoskeletal disorder, or MSD.
MSDs are conditions that can develop over time, causing pain or injury to muscles, nerves, tendons and joints.
You can become "ergonomic conscious" and reduce your chance of developing MSDs by knowing the risk factors:
- Repetition
- 'Static' or awkward postures or positions
- Stress or pressure on a joint
- Force
