ERGONOMICS

Ergonomics is the science of fitting the task to the worker or making a job the most comfortable for the individual performing it in order to reduce the risk of developing a musculoskeletal disorder or MSD.

MSD’s are conditions that can develop over time, causing pain or injury to muscles, nerves, tendons and joints.

You can become ‘ergonomic conscious’ and reduce your chance of developing MSD’s by knowing the risk factors:

Repetition
‘Static’ or awkward postures or positions
Stress or pressure on a joint
Force
