Welcome to Confined Space Awareness Training

page 1

Many workplaces have spaces which are considered "confined spaces," and UNLV is no exception. A confined spaces is an ares with limited means for entry and exit. Confined spaces on campus are regulated by OSHA and is found in 29 CFR 1910.146. The UNLV Confined Space Entry Program was created in response to the OSHA regulation and discusses how we deal with confined spaces on campus.

This online course is designed to give you only general information regarding confined spaces on campus. It is important to note that this awareness-level training does not permit you to enter a confined space.

If you will potentially enter confined spaces as part of your job duties or supervise someone who does, you will need to complete Confined Space Entry training. This classroom-based training is offered on a regular basis. Please check the Safety Training Calendar for dates and times or contact Ben Fausett for more information.
