Respiratory Protection

In 29 CFR 1910.134, OSHA requires that UNLV develop and implement a written respiratory protection program to protect the health of employees where respirator use is necessary to accomplish their job responsibilities.

Worksite specific procedures are required and contain the following elements to ensure workers are cleared, trained and prepared to use respirators.

  1. Annual medical evaluations
  2. Annual training (either online or classroom)
  3. Annual quantitative fit testing
