Inventory Benifits

  • Assist faculty memebers in knowing what chemicals they currently have in their labs and facilities, and provide a means to update their inventory regularly.
  • Enable RMS staff to find and upload proper Material Safety Data Sheets for all chemicals on campus.
  • To assist with current and future policies mandated by federal, state and local regulators. (Such as the upcoming Department of Homeland Security: Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards)

Inventory Process

  • Walk Through -- Normally not longer than 10 minutes a room.
  • During or Shortly after the walk through, please notify us of any specific time that we can not do the physical inventory.
  • The physical inventory will then take place -- Time varies depending on the number of chemicals, the current staffing, etc.
  • A follow up may need to occur to verify data. -- Normally not longer than the time to find the chemical again.
